10/18/07 Thistles If you can start thinking ahead to the spring, and remind yourself just how much of a thistle problem you had last spring, maybe you can schedule someone to come out and treat them before they get overgrown and tough. Taking care of them when they are young and before they start to develop seed will go a long way in preventing future outbreaks, and stopping them from spreading. Brush It is a good time of year to work on getting those out of control, brushy and weedy areas under control. The weather is a little cooler, and leaves are dropping, and it is just good to be outdoors in the fall. Make sure you use caution, and all your personal protective gear when doing this. If you cut the brush, vines and weeds down now, and have the area sprayed with a good herbicide treatment when regrowth starts, you would probably be surprised just how easy it can be to maintain with just a few inexpensive applications a year. A lot of hot, heavy backbreaking labor can be saved by the right application of the right product at the right time! We are always happy to offer both service, and advice. |
