Sometimes the answer is so obvious to us, that it doesn't seem like an answer at all. It may just seem like we are stating the obvious.

The obvious answer in this case is, that they want to, and they can!

We want to focus on these two reasons. Namely:

1. Why they want to.

2. Why they can.

1. Insects, and insect like creatures such as arachnids (spiders) have very little wasted motion, and they act in predictable ways. Spiders and scorpions are coming into your home for the same reasons you live in your home. Food, water, shelter and comfort. In this case it is likely food they are after. Spiders and scorpions will dine on several types of insects, but the one that they love, and will go out of their way to get, is crickets. You will usually find both where crickets live.

Why do the crickets come in?

Well, for the same reason as the spiders and scorpions. The fact is, that your home will always draw insects.

2. The real question is, how to keep them out.

To do this, you should check all of your homes openings, and be sure that they are sealed. check for holes, cracks, crevices, poorly sealed windows and doors, vents, plumbing and electrical outlets and anything else you can think of.

Proper outdoor maintenance is also important. If you keep the bugs out of your landscape and your lawn, there will be fewer there to try to get inside.

We have a lot of free resources available to help you with this task. Please feel free to check our Tutorial Directory , and our Pest Prevention Directory for more details. We have pest prevention information for lawns gardens and landscapes, information on things to check both indoors and outdoors, even things to check before you buy or build a home.

Any bugs that are bugging you, are food for some other insect like creature. The best way to stop one, is by stopping them all!
