TEXPEST, Pest Control From Rational Environmental Solutions (903) 216-1408 james@texpest.com What are the little worm looking things that get in my house in the fall? Those are most likely millipedes. They have a lot of legs, and just miracoulously appear in your home in autumn. They don't bite or sting, but they are a nuisance. Check around your home to find the points of entry. It will most likely be an area around your shrub beds, where there is decomposing plant material. They like that, and will then proceed through the nearest opening to find a nice place to spend some time. To deal with them, find the place they are coming in, get rid of decaying plant material, it might even be your mulch, spray or spread an insecticide in bands around your home, check for trees and shrubs touching your home. I have seen them drop from trees, and dug them out of leaf and debris filled gutters by the handful. Clean the gutters. Find where they are coming through from the inside, and seal this.
