I had my weeds sprayed a few days ago. They look sort of sick, but they aren't dead yet. Is something wrong?

Not necessarily. In general, a slow death for brush and weeds is desirable. As a rule of thumb, a slow death is a complete death, and a fast death is not a complete one. Most of the chemicals used to get rid of weeds and brush are "systemic". That simply means that they start at one point and work into the entire plant. It takes time for this to work. Contact herbicides can show effects immediately, but they only "burn" the part of the plant that is exposed, consequently, the root of the plant may still be alive and can produce new growth. A lot of people think that a higher than labelled dose of a systemic weed killer will be better than the label rate. This is not true. In the first place, it is a violation of federal law, and in the second, it may kill the top so quickly that the chemical doesn't reach the root.

How safe are the chemicals you use?
